td14 engine in a SWD9

will a td 14 engine fit in a swd9 i am looking for a swd9 motor and have come across a td14 engine for a real good price and didn't know if anyone knew if it will bolt in the same place as the swd9's engine or if they look the same or if the 14 motor is a lot bigger i know it has a bigger bore and stroke

Hi Dave,

I have both a TD-14 and several 9 series wheeled tractors. Although I didn't take any measurements to research your question, I find it highly unlikely that the larger engine would fit the smaller tractor. The increased displacement was not just achieved with kits and a stroker crankshaft. Everything was much bigger.

Engine swaps into a 9 series tractor are difficult. The cast iron tub limits that potential.

I have seen a TD 18 engine put in a WD40. I think it is impossible to say a engine swap with a TD14 can't be done. The question is what is the cost to do it and then what will you have when your finished? Your best bet is to keep looking for a SWD9 motor. My 2 cents worth.
