Power steering unit Farmall/IH

Ok heres the deal. A friend got a power steering unit from e-bay but it is for a Faramall/ford/ ?? But he has a 300U IH so will it work on the 300U?? From what he says if goes in the steering shaft but I have not seen it so not sure.

We sure need more info. Is it an external pump, a Saginaw witht he resevoir on top. Driven by gen belt?
Does it have the Char lyn torque Gen?

rich, char-lynn made different kits for quite a few tractors, also for industrial equipment. on the row crops, the steering assist was done thru the torque generator that spliced into the steering shaft. for the standards and utilitys, there was an assist unit that looked like a long hydraulic cylinder that attached to the drag link on the steering and then to the body of the tractor. here is a picture of my w-9 with the assist cylinder, tho the cylinder is behind the front tire. you can see the engine mounted pump and the hoses going to the cylinder, if you want i can get some close up pics of the steering set up and post em for you.

The part that is throwing me is he says it will fit not just the farmall but the fords and a few others and to me that says it has to be like what you have which is a lot like what is factory on my 841 ford
 
He said something about a belt drive pump but he has only told me a little bit about it and guess who gets to install it. Shoot his 300U has been sitting for 2 years or more because of how hard it is to steer. And now he is talking about if the power steering will work I get to make a loader we have fit it to boot which I know will take some real fab work also
