Farmall H hand clutch

I have come across a 1940 farmall H with a hand clutch. My question is: Is the hand clutch M & W? Are there others? Did IHC ever put in an OEM hand clutch? Is there a way to identify the one that is there?

Any help is appreciated

Apparently the side plate on the clutch is missing as M&W is clearly on the nameplate.

IH did not produce one, M&W produced a LOT (they are not rare) and I don't know of any others.

Heisler made hand clutchs too. The cover should have the maker's name on it. Cast iron cover is M&W, aluminum cover is Heisler. IHC never made these hand clutches, they were only aftermarket items

I deal in complete hand clutches and parts for them.

Kirk, what does a set of fiber disks cost for the model R55, for the M?

Mine is OK for the time being, but always thinking ahead to the day when it needs a rebuild.

I a rebuild kit was reasonable I would almost consider just buying one and putting it away.

Thanks, Gene
