Charlyn does not work if tractor is not moving

Installed the Charlyn power steering unit on the Super M this weekend and works perfect when the tractor is moving but not at a standstill. Is this normal?also used a external pump.

did you bleed all the air out of the system? jack the front wheels up off the ground, run the engine about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and turn the wheel all the way to the right, then back to the left a couple 5-6 times and see what you have. do not hold steering wheel against the end stops, real hard on the pump and torque genny. if you need a copy of the char-lynn manuals, i have them scanned on my computer in jpeg files. shoot me an email and i can send em to ya.

There are 3 different size CharLynn units. If you have a loader on the tractor the smaller units do not do a very good job. Also the pump pressure and volume could be a factor, especially at lower rpm's.

Yes I have the manual and will jack the tractor this weekend and turn the wheel a couple of times.Hope I can resolve the problem because no power steering at standstill was not worth the trouble of installing the unit. The tractor also does not have a front loader.
