1951 H, Replace front seal/bearing though belly opening

I need to replace all the front transmission bearings, seals and gaskets accessible through the belly opening on my 51 Model H. Please see link to attached picture. Where would I find the part numbers? and where is a good place to buy the bearings, seals and gaskets? Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

It isn't hard to remove the transmission cover, and you'll probably end up taking it off anyway if you want replace the pilot bearing. The tough part is dropping and replacing the liftall and getting the clutch shaft apart.

An IH dealer is a good place to get the parts.

The seal and a speedisleeve probably isn't too bad. I think I might try that first unless I was convinced by other evidence that the bearing was bad.

The difficulty on the bearing probably depends on how much press-fit was used...and...you'll probably have to concoct a puller and a pusher to install it without damaging the new one.

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure the bearing is shot because the shaft shown in the picture has considerable play. I assume there is also a bearing/seal associated with the part that spins underneath the shaft (not sure what it is called, maybe counter rotating shaft?) I have a puller that I think will get the existing bearings out but getting them back in could be a problem (as you suggest). PS, I have a service manual on order maybe that will help me understand what I am up against and give me the part numbers for the bearings/seals and gaskets needed to perform this work.

Again, Thanks
Ron
