How bad did I break it?

Bush hogging with 706 German Diesel. Forgot there was a hedge post set in about 1 yard of concrete in the bushes. Hit the post with the right front wheel. The impact bruised my hand and instantly I lost power steering and Hy-tran is pouring out near the front of the engine, left side. I can feel steel lines there inside the frame channel.

How bad do you think I hurt it?

I do not know "how bad" but I can tell you this... It ain't pretty.

Gene . , I would say that you may have busted the cap over the steering piston or if yo are really lucky it maybe just a line . Look behind the left frame rail and you will see a sorta square cap held on with four bolts and see if it is cracked , it sets in on a angle . You may luck out and only Blew the O/Ring that seals it . But the down side is that you have to removethe left frame rail to fix . This is not a hard job just put a jack under the center of the range trans mission or bell housing and take some weight off beore you remove the frame rail and if it is a wide ft. drive a wedge between the ft axle and the bolster to hold everything in place then remove the frame rail . If ya got bigger problems then get ahold of me and i can walk ya thru it

Oh well, whatever it is, I can probably fix it.

Tractor vet doesn't think it is too bad. Anything short of taking the engine out, I can handle.

Thanks everyone for you advice. Everyone except Tom43 that is.
