I posted on the implement forum to get info on how to proper sharpen my Sear's Buzzsaw. Well, after a bit of surfin' the net, and some feedback, and careful study of the "grind" on the teeth on the blade, I proceeded with my mill file, and 3 hours later, the old girl cut real smooth.

Thought I would share a couple of pics.

Hi Tom: Nice pictures. Reminds me of ours mounted on the front of our MD. A mounted one made it easy to move around to different log piles. We cut all the wood for a two story 5 bedroom farm home when I was a kid. With a sharp blade, it could really eat up a pile of logs. Yours even has a guard.. Take care using it. ag

Thanks AG. We used one too, although, it was mounted to a post at the barn. We would haul 4' logs from the woods (use a Mall 2 man saw to cut them).

This is a Sears saw, does anyone know what color it should be painted?

I looked in an 1897 S and R catalog and found a Battle Creek Brand saw that looks similar to yours,($22.50 in 1897 dollars) without the guard and a slotted top. The picture is black and white, but it appears to be a very light color.
