H Farmall gas tank

I bought an H farmall gas tank at an auction. It is the size of an H but has two outlets on the bottom. I was wondering if anyone can tell me how this came about.It is factory. This set up is on an MD but there were no diesel H's.

As far as I know there were no production fuel tanks with a tank within a tank. The distillate tractors (and diesels) had a separate round tank in front of the main tank. A good fabricator could put two outlets in a standard tank, but the only reason I can imagine would be to have a reserve. Putting a stand pipe in one outlet, and none in the other. I could be mistaken, but it is news to me if there were. JimN
