M radiator fan

In the process of removing the radiator from my 1951 M, I removed 2 bolts and loosened 2 studs that hold the fan blade to the water pump. This allowed me to tilt the fan and remove the radiator with the fan shroud still attached. Once out of the tractor, I removed the last stubborn bolt holding the shroud to the radiator. One of the fan blades is cracked close to the pulley, so I want to remove the fan to weld it. How do I remove that contraption (called a driver in the Case-IH parts view) from the water pump? There is a bolt in the driver that unscrews, but then what? Thanks.

The 'bolt' has a taper to it and can only come out the way it went in. What I do to remove the stubborn bolt is to place a short socket over the head end of it that clears the OD. Then, with the nut backed out flush with the end of the threads, use a 6-inch C-clamp to press it until the nut bottoms out. Being tapered, if it moves a little it becomes loose and can then be tapped out using a punch. Beating and/or heating is not recommended because the packing is too close.

Thanks Theman,
The bolt I'm referring to screws into the side of the driver. I can unscrew that no problem.
What nut are you referring to that I have to back out?

Got it. It looked like a bolt when I first looked at it (early evening). In the light, it all made sense and I got the fan off. Thanks all.
