Valve clearance manifolds on 10-20

I was reviewing my I&T repair manual to determine valve clearances for my 10-20. It lists 0.011", but for the W30 & F30 it show 0.017". Is this a misprint? Also is this hot or cold?

I have two 10-20's but the manifolds are different. One is similar to late '20s regular - single piece casting with all pipes dropping down to common exhaust point. The other has the exhaust exiting up into a runner horizontal over the ports. Finally there is single drop next to the tank. This one has a bolt on plate in the center of the exhaust runner.

Any reasons for the difference (age, performance)?

thanks

That valve setting is probably correct. Go to this web site and see what Spiffy says. Hal

The first manifold you described dropping down to a common point were used on the 1927 to 1928 tractors. The other you have was used on the 1929 to 1939 versions. Just an upgrade that IH did like many other tractor parts.
