I am currently working on my H and do to lack of tools I am wondering if this can be done without jeopardizing either frame and or the engine, if I can block up the tractor in some way can I remove lower assembly/ front wheels and the at the same time take off one of the rails carriage clean it put it bake in place then go to the other side of the tractor do the same and the paint the tractor as one unit less all other areas gas tank, hood these are already off and are in the process of refinishing

Take the front/bolster off, and put a jack on one of the frame rails and you can remove the other rail, clean it and paint. Reinstall, put a jack on it and do the other one.

Thanks for the reply will work at it, one rail at a time it is one of these projects where I wish that I had all the proper tools to do the job, but I have a little shop with a smaller budget, but want to tear this tractor apart and at least get a paint and it running so that I can put either a belly plow or rear scrapper so that I can get the better hand of old man winter drive is just 1/3 mile long

You know, Andy has some pretty good advice and I agree that you can take one frame rail off at a time. However, I will go a step further and recommend blocking the tractor up under the torque tube and also blocking under the front bolster. That bolster is HEAVY and could, if not supported, twist the remaining frame rail. Also, if it twists, it could put the fan thru the radiator or tweak the radiator where the steering shaft goes thru it, or even ruin the one rail that is still on the tractor. Hope this helps. Larry

I wouldn"t take a rail off without blocking everything up as if I were splitting the tractor. You don"t need anything special: just a jack or two and a good supply of scrap lumber to build cribbing with.

I was talking with the whole bolster assembly removed. I'm doing this now on my H because I had to replace a worn cam gear key.
