We called them "hippies" in the 60's and 70's. The article said they netted $8,000. That is poverty level. Wonder if they are on welfare and food stamps also.

I mean this is great if that's what floats your boat. But USA today trys to make it sound like this is the future of agriculture.

These are just college kids who want to try the commune life style and not have to hold down a real job.

If you want to see what young people in agriculture are really doing check out the Agriculture Future Of America program.

I have a brother that cant hold down a real job, grows his own pot. Now has graduated up to a little plastic green house and is selling sweet potatoes.

The real farmers in the US will continue to feed this country and much of the rest of the world.

Whatever!

The topic of the post was do draw attention to the Farmall tractor, not the issues discussed in the article.

Lighten up, life is short.

They actually netted 16K on a 20K gross. On a percentage basis, that's pretty good. ( each got 8k )

I live probobly 5 hours away from there. If you have ever been to seattle you know they have a large granola head community and those people look like they migrated from the city to the country. People in washington are all in to the green movement and eating organic stuff. I just grow it at home in my garden because its cheaper.
