well I am going to try this again the first time that I posted I made some mistake and more or less was lost so new name password all that stuff is now working lets hope it stays that way. The H that I have is 1946 vintage body is in good shape nothing rusted through and very few dings in the tin. the engine was frozen and is free after a week and a few days of pb blaster much better than sea foam Not sure weather these types of fluids evaporate so I added a little oil in each it floats to the top and then locks in whatever in in the cylinder now with the cylinders free and the oil pan cleaned out I could put it back together find a manifold then hook up the carb and find out if it runs and then how well. But on the other hand I want to take my time repaint it and make it look like the tractor of days past only problem with doing it that way is it might be a risk to find that it doesn't run when I am finished

Ya I would get it running and any litte bugs if you find any worked out before you go to paint it. Its never fun to have to tear any of it apart right after you paint it and have it looking sharp again.

They were painted with the hood off and the distributor cap steering wheel rim gauges, axles, serial plate, and generator spec plate taped up. Hoses and belts were painted as much as got on them! So I would do as JJ indicates, and get it running first, even work it a little to reseat the rings and see how much additional repair is needed. Best of luck, JimN
