400 mower size

What is the maximum width of mower you all run on a 400 (4 cylinder gas)? I see that some mowers use different horsepower but the same width. I would like a 7 footer but maybe 6. Right now I am borrowing a 5 footer. It is a 3 point. I have a pull behind but I am thinking to upgrade.

I have a SH that I use I 3 point 6 foot mower on. If what I am mowing is light I am ok but if the grass is heavy I work the tractor hard I think you would be pushing it with 7 foot on a 400. A 400 is more horsepower but I don't believe enough for a 7 foot bush hog.

I have a Farmall 400 with a 3 point hitch. I use a 7 foot bush hog mower with no problems.

Easily an 8 footer in medium 2 to 3' grass or weeds. Reduce the cut width to cut heavier stuff (overlap cuts) JimN

I ran a 10 foot pull-type with the 400 for a summer. Got a workout in the high stuff, just had to downshift.
