Farmall C won't charge

I have a 1948 Farmall C. It had been converted to 12 volt with a 12 volt coil added above the original magneto. It never charged, so I recently re-wired it completely with a kit from Agri-Services and new-rebuilt Delco 10SI alternator with internal regulator. The kit came with a "SE plug, self-energizing". There is no "idiot-light" installed. Also no ballast resistor(still has the 12 Volt coil). After installation, I started the tractor and it seemed to be charging perfectly for a couple of weeks. Now, it suddenly stopped charging. Could this be due to the soaking the alternator got in a rainstorm? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The soaking probably didn't help. You might let the alternator bake in the sun for a day and see what happens.

Or if you live here in western NY - where the sun has been a "no show" this summer - shine a heat lamp on it for a couple hours. But don't let the alternator case get too hot to touch(!))

Also check the belt tension - a loose, wet belt will not let the alternator charge.
