IHC w400 grill

just bought a w400 with front end loader. The grill has been totaled by the top bales on the semi again. I see so many grills done in on tractors with loaders as they go in to pick up those top bales.

my search for a good grill has been fruitless to this point. I have discovered that the w6 shares a lot of parts with the w400. Has anyone used the sheet metal and grills from the w6 on a newer tractor?

thanks
George

Have you considered eBay? Half a dozen 400 grills come up every year. I doubt you will have to pay more than $50 for a good piece; most likely less. Shipping will add to the final cost.

If you create a search, eBay will send you an email when the grill you want is listed. In other words, you don't have to scour all the Farmall/IH ads every day. Let eBay do the work.

Start with eBay.com > business/industrial > antique tractors > Farmall > 400 450 grill. If nothing is listed, find the link on that page for creating your search.

I can't see trying to fit W6 sheetmetal to a 400. Lots of modification would be required. With the exception of the engine layout, there is not much commonality between the two tractors.

I too have a W-400 with a smashed grill and have found a few parts tractors with smashed grills, you will see them on ebay sometimes... where are you located
