Farmall C rear end noise

I have a 1950 Farmall C that broke the inner bearing on the right axle. When I took the top off of the rear end I found that the two bolts that go through the washer that hold your bull gear to the axle were broke. The washer and one of the bolts (minus the head) were on the bottom of the housing. I pulled off the right side axle and housing and found that the inner bearing had broke. Some of the pieces of the bearing left a couple of gouges in the axle and the splines that slide into the bull gear. I ended up taking both axle housings off and replaced the axle bearings and seals on both sides. When I went to take off the left bull gear the bolts that hold the washer on were also loose. I cleaned all of the gunk out of everything and put it all back together. Tonight I pulled it out of the shop for a test drive and noticed that when I put it 3rd or 4th gear there is a whining noise coming from the right side of the tractor. It is louder in 4th than in 3rd and if I hold my hand on the right axle housing I can feel a light vibration. Does everything just have to wear back together or did I do something wrong? All of the gears looked good when I inspected them, there were no chips or anything in any of the gears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would say it is just from the years it was running crooked on the drive pinions. I would ignore it, as there is nothing to adjust (other than buying a set of gears) that would change it. Time and some use will mellow it out. JimN
