Question about 1941 M pto

I thought the PTO seal was leaking on my M so I pulled it out to replace it and the bearing. I realized there was only a seal on the inboard side of the bearing and nothing holding the grease in. Now I can see it was not gear oil leaking past the seals. I went to the case ih website and I found my tractor falls between serial numbers 27997 and 59956 and was missing a felt washer and retainer. CaseIH still carries the bearing, seal, and felt, but not the retainer. Is there anywhere else to get one of these, or is it like a washer, or does any know the dimensions so I can attempt to make one? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The washer is recessed so that the felt ring fits inside the recess. I could not get the orignal oil seal that goes behind the bearing, but found one at Motion Industries that could be used. You may try them for the washer. You can look them up on the internet and find the nearest location to you. They are nation wide and seem to provide those hard to get bearings, seals etc. Maybe this will help. Harley
