For those of you coming to Madison, Wi, for the Red Power Roundup:

After you have walked for a day, and you want to go for a great meal or sandwich and cold refreshment that is not too far away and easy to get to...get on Hwy 12 & 18 West. Go to Seminole Pkwy exit, pull up to stoplight and go straight across the intersection and turn right into the parking lot of "Tony Frank's". They have excellent food at moderate prices. It's a small place, and very clean. Their Wisconsin Brats or hamburgers are great. I suggest you wash it down with a cold Leinenkugel Beer. Remember, you are in Wisconsin and don't make a fool of yourself by ordering some sweet bland beer from out of state. No, I don't work for Tony Franks or Leinenkugel. I just know what kind of place you need after a good day of looking at Red Iron.
Stop in to visit at the show; I'll have an H Farmall with a white buggy top and it will be hooked to a Little Genius plow. Should be easy to spot the buggy top. Hope to have a couple chairs for you to take a load off.

Hey Lowell- Great advice cant make it from Oregon but thanks for letting me know they still make leinenkugel beer - haven't had one since I left Iowa in 50--Great beer!!! John

Odd that I would be drinking one right now-Original Linies; mostly they go for cooking. Miller owns them. I like products from New Glarus Brewery, south of the People's Republic of Madison. Plaza Grill and Pub, a couple blocks walk down State Street from the Wisc. Histerical Society has a decades old recipe sauce on their burgers and some beers that aren't what I call 'institutional' beers. When in the Badger State give something different a try to wash down your food. Babcock ice cream is what some call a 'must' also. For folks driving down from the NW-ern part of Wisc. Sand Creek Brewery in Black River Falls has some delicious beverages. Out of the way, but S. of La Crosse on highway 162 is a GREAT place, The Hideaway in Chaseburg. Lots of menu items, 14 beers on tap and many more from small breweries in this country, Belgium and others and the scenery is unmatched!, well...ok, not many women, but the scenery is still unmatched. Just a few side trips in Wisc.
mm, mm, good

For anyone coming to RPRU from the NW...you MUST STOP at Osseo and get a slice of pie. No need to get anything else there, just pie.

Thursday-Saturday, July 23-25.
And to GeneMO, I have had my share of 'that stuff' after Badger football at a bar where there was no other choice for tailgating. Now I am older, not much wiser but want my water/hops/malt to have some flavor to it, or as I say, there is distilled water at the grocery store for your taste buds. But yes Gene, in a bottle or on tap. As the saying goes in Madison - 'let's get the red out'.
