M; hand throttle/lever

My hand throttle keeps slipping lower as I am driving forcing me to steer with the left hand and keep the right on the throttle lever. A pain. I've tried tightening down the nut that holds everything together but to no real avail. There is like a gsket material between the plates of the lever and the column -- it is worn super smooth. What do i replace that with?
The lever does not have teeth. thanks for your answers in advance.

They sell them here in yt parts, it is called a friction disk, lot of other places sell them too, check out ebay item #360169299234 for a pic.

A piece of old shoe leather will do fine. A new heavier spring will also make it have more friction. Hardware store item. JimN

3 inch cutoff wheel for a grinder it already has a 3/8 hole i put one on my h 7 or 8 years ago still working and only costs about 50 cents

These are very good tips. I have tried the spring on the lever but the surfaces are just worn too smooth. The grinder pad is is something I will take a look at. I figured a leather pad might hold well enough. Lots of ideas here.
