Farmall H liftall screw up

I pulled the liftall pump on my H to replace the front seal. I put it all back together and forgot to hook the acuator lever to the internal parts.

Is there any magic hooking that up when I pull it back apart?

Temporarily attach the operating lever to give you leverage while re-assembling. Test that it will latch in the "raise" position and un-latch when you push it ahead. Do this BEFORE you insert into the "belly of the beast"!!

My dad was helping me, and he has had some thinking issues since his stroke last winter, and I just got distracted by him. He was a super mechanic and loves to do work but needs supervision now. This was his tractor and he was excited to see it fixed. I replaced all the other seals this winter and repaired the items that were not functioning.

He was so excited to try it out and I felt sad for him when it did not work. We are going to fix it next weekend.
