Old tow type baler.

Hello all, hope this is right place to ask this question. Grew up at a place called Okoboji,Ia.-at13 worked for an old farmer who bhought a new H in 43 or 44.He also got a new baler -4 wheel wire tied using wood blocks. one man fed from pickup to the chamber andmy job was to feed the wires thru the block slots to the kid on the other side (me also) then back thru the blocks without wiring in the block-I am trying to remember if it was a model 10 ? just know it was IHC made. Any help?? theres an old one near hr in Oregon I am looking at. Dont remember any engine so must have been pto driven--Tnx in adv. PS Jim N-plasti-guage works fine to guage oil pump clearance. John

Sounds as if it could be a 15, the first IH baler modelled on the model 15 stationary hay press. The 15 hay baler had either a LB 5HP engine with radiator or a small continental engine. it was 4 main wheels with another small castoring wheel at the end of the pickup. The pickup could be detached to tow behind the rest of the baler for transport. The bigger model M baler did not need the person behind the pickup to feed the chamber.

Thanks Athol, Dont think it had an engine as it had a heavy flywheel in line with where the pto shaft would have hooked up---just dont rememeber about the outboard wheel on the pickup-came to the farm on pallets and helped dad getting the key in the flywheel. When plowing time came I didnt get the H drew the Ferguson which we had a he__ of a time getting it go into the dry-hard ground. John

Maybe this is it. Sorry I can't give you a number, but maybe if photo is right, someone can ID it.

Thank you JMOR for your input.its similar BUT - This one did have a pickup and a platform for the guy feeding the chamber- also had a 1x6 foot boardand 1x6 seat where the gent in the blue is standing. This pix is older model -looks to me.and looking at the pix I am sure that ours had pto power--no engine up there.
