M Manifold- New or Old is better?

I am going to be needing a new manifold for a Farmall M. I was wondering if the new ones were any better then the manifolds that came on the tractors?
Would like to know which would be best to get or if there is any advantage at all? I have seen some Ms at tractor pulls with new manifolds that look to me more like a header for a car which does help for power. They seem to be a lot more pipe and only a small square in the center.

The manifolds that look like headers are exactly that. They are made for increased performance pulling tractors, but would not be satisfactory for every day farming use

Some of the new, aftermarket manifolds do not fit well, and some of them do, and a used manifold MAY have issues that you cannot see until it is installed.

If you could ger new original equipment manifold at reasonable price, no doubt that would be best. I have Chinese manifolds on a A and M and they work fine. The A mabifold set carberator about 1/2 inch lower than stock, this was no big problem on A just had to lower air cleaner but on M you would have BIG problem.

I prefer a original one, lots of new parts are not made very well.
