tractor pull

depends on alot of factors, in short they are both on the same playing feild in the 3500-4500 lb classes. with out knowing tires, hitch setup, chain length, what type of pull it is impossible to know who would win. side note we have beat many wd's and wd45's with h's and super c's even.

Lot of those WDs have D17 engines in them. Would make them hard to beat, but its always fun to see the underdog win.
As far as abuse, You'll either stall or spin out. I've done both on the track and in the field.
Unless you've really hopped up the engine you shouldn't hurt a thing.
If you really want to see a worn out tractor, take one that has been turned up and hitched to tillage equipment for endless hours.

There is a guy around home that at least used to regularly beat built 1066s and 1466s in either 9500 or 10500. With a JD 60. He stalled. They spun out, too much power for the weight.

The WD has a little more engine (stock) on the H, but the H has weight, and balance. It would win some pulls and loose others. But give me the H to drive all day. JimN

If the tractor is near stock power level and not over ballasted I dont feel its abuse to pull a plow or a pulling sled.

If there is a weak spot on the tractor [either by design or extensive field work] I'd say the sled would cause a break down first - else field work would cause more wear [10-100X time under load for exhibition; 100-1000X the hours for field use] - the former applying "max load" for a very short time; the latter anywhere from nill to near max for much longer times. Which constitutes abuse? Whichever you're engaged in when the breakdown occurs!

To the original question; beat's me! Allis does always have quite a power to weight ratio, but I don't think the H has anything to be ashamed of with a good balance of power/weight.

When someone else breaks it, its abuse.
If I break it, it was old and worn out and ready to break anyhow. :>)
I would prefer the H, I find a WD uncomfortable to drive, even for a couple hundred feet. :>)
