I have a 1951 Farmall H that I took my carb. to my local I. H. dealership and had it re-built. I need to know how to adjust it. I have been told that the mixture screw in the front is for idle and the back one is for high speed. I don't know how to set them. Thanks. -Dave Jones

Oh, don't worry about it - just turn them one way and then the other until you finally find a combination that seems to smooth it out.....

Seriously..... You have a $1300 tractor and you don't have a $24 manual for it?????? Come on, man - order an Operators Manual. It will tell you about carb adjusting and a lot more as far as how to take care of your H.
Look under "tractor manuals" under "marketplace" upper left had corner of the main page.....

True enough, I need a manual. However, ordering one would not get the thing running well tonight. I did get some good, non-snarky, advise from someone else on this site. The tractor now runs very well.

the one in the middle adjusts the air. the one pointing down is the main jet adjuster. for the main jet adjuster, turning it clockwise will make the gas mixture leaner. hope that helps
