So ive been trying to get rid of my farmall cub for sometime now, ive been trying to use it as a partial trade for a bigger tractor and even have posted ad"s up saying i have 1500 plus the cub for a bigger tractor, So has the cub like lost all value as a tractor, its not in bad shape it has a dent in the gas tank and some shetmetal work needs to be done but its in good running mechanical condtion, sorry just sharing my situation, is this normal i thinks its a very useful tractor but just want something bigger like in the M size range

My thoughts surrounding the Cub are: it is a good mowing tractor (with a belly mower) and a good large-garden tractor (with the appropriate implements).

If you don't have either of those setups it is kinda limited to parades and pulling wagons or a "starter" tractor for younger kids.

To find a person with a larger tractor wanting into any of the above categories would be somewhat of a rarity IMHO. My thoughts are the path of best success is to sell the Cub for what you can get for it and use the proceeds added to your own savings to complete a deal for a larger tractor.

One thought is if you will "free deliver" the Cub within a so-many-mile radius you might get some more interest.

Cube are OK, but for the same reason you want an M those who have Ms usually don't need a cub. The deal you describe isn't bad, but cubs can be regionally unwanted, or in high demand. They are not powerful for their size, and make a good garden tractor, or large lawn mower (unless you have operated a Zeroturn diesel with 50" cut. Then their 12 hp seems very anemic. Good luck, I think it will just take a targeted campaign to find am H or M (or 300-350 or 400-450) (much more modern tractors) to trade. Try swap radio on the agriculture channel. or the Ag related papers in small near by towns. JimN

Hey Pat, does your cub have hydraulics? And would an IH 2444 gas tractor with 3 point, P/S and dual clutch suit your needs? I've got one in about the same condition as your cub and could be interested in negotiating. If so send me an email:
