I have an H and am going to rebuild it. I have been told that I can "350" it, as in use a 350 sleeve kit to get some more "ponies" out of it. Will this work and will it be wise as far as the drive train is concerned? Thank you for any input.

Won't hurt the drivetrain, but those sleeves will not fit unless you first have the block bored out, and there may not be enough material in that block to allow boring that much.
 
Lots of engine kits out there that increase bore from 3 3/8 to 3 7/16. If you go with one of these and the stepped head pistons you will feel the difference.

H to super H yes, to 350 not without boring the block. Do it. Use domed pistons and all will be fine. No issues with powertrain. JimN
 
Dad had an H with the Super H sleeves and pistons at one time. No drive line troubles and he had no problem pulling a 3x14" plow. I'd go that direction.
 
With thinwall sleeves 3-7/16 bore is the most you can go on a regular H block without machine work. If you want to run sleeves the next step with machine work is 3-9/16 bore thinwall SH sleeve and piston set. The block doesn't have to be bored as much with that set compared to the 300, 350 thinwall 3-5/8 ID sleeves. If you run the pistons on the block without sleeves, sometimes some 3-9/16 pistons can be fitted, or the block can be sized for 3-5/8 pistons. If you have a good block casting most all the above will work. If not get ready for more machine work or finding another block. If your tractor is a early one I would pass on boreing it. If you get 3-5/8 pistons, most if not all now have the small piston pin. You would need adapter bushings in your connecting rods to use. some 3-9/16 have the small pin also. Just my opinion when using 3-5/8 pistons and the block bore castings look good. I go for opening the bore roughly 1/16 and running on yhe block. If you wear that out it can be bored for the sleeve then. Know a few that farmed running pistons in block and they lasted good.
 
Like the others said, you have to bore the block. That costs $$$. Then find wrist pin sleeves to make them fit. More extra cost. And if you are using dome (high compression) pistons. you may have clearance issues with the head. Trust me I tried it. Just a few things to consiter. In case I didn't make it clear. SH with a regular block used standard bore of 3.5 but the sleeves are the same OD as the 3-9/16 SH sleeves I mentioned and won't go in a H block without boring. 300 also used 3-9/16 pistons but the sleeve OD is the same as 3-5/8 350 sleeves. Counterbore in block or sleeve flange work comes in to play on some combinations also.
 
Save yourself the trouble and just buy a 350 short-block, then set your original block aside. Cheaper and better in the long run.
