Farmall 504 clutch

When in 5th gear at a dead stop the tractor just sits there. It also does that in other gears under a heavy load unless I pull on the torque amplifier. I think I need a new clutch. What is involved and what should that cost?

The clutch kit is about $250. As far as installing it your going to have to split the tractor. If you can rig some sort of stand to support the frame rails and support the rear of the tractor near the clutch housing, you should be able to remove the engine bolts and the frame rail bolts at the clutch housing and seperate the two enough to replace your clutch. Even if you have to disassemble the whole front, it shouldn't be more than a days work to complete.
