1950 MD wiring

I picked up a 1950 MD, and all the wiring is missing. It has a magneto, and I need to know how does the manifold switch get wired in? The manifold switch has 2 terminals, same as my 53 superMD with a distributor. The guy I bought it from said it didn't have a mag, or distributor on it when he got it,so he put the mag on it,and never did any more. Are the manifold switches the same for both set ups? I know one wire goes to the mag, but then what? I know the switch opens on the SMD when it switches to diesel, but does'nt it have to ground the mag out when it switches to diesel? Thank's for any help!

The distributor type switch on your manifold opens the circut when switched to diesel. Magneto type grounds when switched to diesel. Guess if you wanted, a manual on off switch with one side grounded could be used,or a if you remember to ground mag after switching over to diesel. Or a IH magneto type on off switch used on M and others. If it came with a distributor and you would like it to stay that way. Finding a Distributor from a 400 or 450 diesel shouldn't be to hard.
