2250 loader

Anyone mounted a 2250 loader on an 806, I bought the loader and they said it came off an 806, the front brackets line up with the frame rail holes, but do I need to drill 4 holes on each side rail for the rear mount? That looks like the only way to do it after I did the measuring. I know someone is going to say it is too small of loader for an 806, but I should be the only one running it, and I think a 2350 is way to heavy to carry around, also about $1000 more if u can find them. Thanks

tjiniowa, I have a 966 it and an 806 are essentially sister tractors as far as frames, length and width are concerned. I have had a 2350 loader on my tractor since I got it back in 92. The only modification I have done to my tractors front end is to Loose the front ag type tire and change out to a H.D. Airplane tire on heaver center rims.
My loader has only been off of the tractor about 4 times ever! Get the heaver 2350 loader not the lighter 2250 loader. When push comes to shove, you will be more satisfided with it over the lighter one.
You will inevitably over horse that lighter loader more times than Not. A 2350 can be for I have ask more of it than it was ever designed to to waaay toooo many times. No I have not destroyed it just have some welds starting to split out, and have needed to reweld them.
IMO get the heaver 2350 loader, change out the front tires for airplanes znd you will be well satisfided. Hope this helps.

i have used 2250 loaders daily on 656s since 1989. at one point, the good 656 went down and i wanted to put the loader on the 826. when i started lining things up, i discovered that the rear mount would need some drilling or mounting plates to hook to the tractor. i decided to put the loader on the old 656 instead.
fwiw, the 656 has broken welds on the 2250, especially on the crossmember, and we don't abuse the loader, just use it. the 806 is a lot more tractor than a 656.

Yes, you need to drill 4 holes in each frame rail.

They did not come pre-drilled for the mount-o-matic loaders until the 66 series.
