Farmall H seals

I recently ordered a seal for each side to do behind the brake drum, after reading posts and noticing that the older seals were twice as thick, I ordered another set...so I installed two on each side, using chassis grease between them, everything went good and they are in...my question is now I am at the outer seal for the rear axle and that too looks twice as thick. Do you guys recommend two seals in each cap? Because right now I only have two(one for each side) but can order two more if need be. Thanks for help as always.

You only need one. The extra seal will just dry out anyway, and groove the shaft.

I agree with Dave, one should work but I would suggest replacing the felt washers also if you haven't. Part number 43720D. They keep the dirt from damaging your seals.

The rubber lip seals today are far superior to the old felt seals. Thats why there is like three felts on the axle seal. You only need one.
