Magneto on M

I just bought a 1947 M. The mag that is on it is a WICO model X. I thought it should have an International H4. Did some of them come with the WICO mag?

Wico was aftermarket and could be added. Dad's 1946 H had a wico x. It worked fine. Your M should have a IHC H-4 or a IH distributor.

If you Google Wico Magneto Farmall you find all sorts of 4 cylinder Wico X Series Mags for Farmalls, so I reckon they must have. I just looked at a few and found one for sale to fit an H. The John Deere guys over on the LIGHT side add XHD hot coils and my Wico XH Mag has a smaller bushing so I could get 1.5 versus the standard 1 turn of spring pre load for a hotterrrrrrrr starting spark wooooooo hoooooooooo lol
