What make/model loaders will fit a Farmall 140 w/o too much modification? Using the existing hydraulics (I know I'll need separate controlls & larger capacity tank), is it possible to buy a loader that will have an articulating bucket & downpressure?

There is an IH model 1000, a one arm job, hydraulic bucket, was made for SA, 100, 130 and 140. Be perpared to shell out $1,500. plus for one, they are scarce. The reason they are scarce, not many folks were fool enough to put loaders over this little front end.

Anything else you try to modify will cost you more, and if it lifts more than 500 lbs, good bye front axle.

Please don't ruin a perfectly good little tractor by putting a loader on it. My dad did that to a 130 and I hated every minute of it. Loader went down the road long time ago, still have the 130.

JUST CURIOUS IF THIS 140 HAS AN INDUSTRIAL FRONT END WHICH IS DIAMOND SHAPED? ALSO WHAT YEAR IS THE TRACTOR AS I LIVE JUST THROUGH THE WOODS IN LYMAN AND WOULD BE INTERESTED IN SEEING IT THANKS

As Hugh mentioned, the 1000 loader will fit your tractor. I had one for 25 years on my 140 and it was quite handy for small jobs. It is a single arm loader and has no down pressure, so this one is limited to loading loose dirt and gravel and hoisting objects. They are rare and pricey. I sold mine five years ago for $1700.
