I just noiticed a ticking noise (similar to pining in an engine)that seems to be associted with the clutch. I hear the noise and pushing in the cluth the noise stops. I had greased the throw out bearing zerc I think with one pump, maybe two, possibly three shots. Could too much grease be a problem?

Thanks,

Rich

Probably not. There are several possible answers.
It could be the coupling between the clutch shaft and the trans input. It could be the constant mesh gear with a chip in a tooth. it could be a bearing (front trans, or intermediate (between shafts), or the lay shaft bearing. If it is being lightly worked (Driving up a small hill in 3rd) does the noise go away? JimN

Thanks for the ideas. The noise just started. The clutch free play needs adjusting, however, I don't think that could be the cause.
