Can anyone recommend the Best/Correct Fluids for a 1952 M..

ENGINE OIL, HYDRAULC SYSTEM, REAR END/GEAR, AND CAPACITIES FOR EACH.

Thanks

Sure:
Engine: 15-40 Rotella (shell) 8 quarts and a new filter. pour in 6. run it then pour in more until it comes out the top petcock.
Liftall hydraulic. If using the unit with shared equipment Hytran, or JD spec Hydraulic fluid. 6 quarts. If stand alone, 20wt non detergent oil will be fine.
Trans about 6 gallons of 80-90 gear oil. Drain from all diff/trans plugs, and rinse with diesel. Fill to within a half inch of the level plug near the clutch rod, left side. Plug on deck to fill. JimN

Jim's advice below is right on EXCEPT: The M tranny holds 13 gallons, not 6!

Be prepared before you pull the tranny drain plug. If water's gotten into the housing you could get 14 - 15 gallons before it stops draining!

Also if the tractor has a belt pulley another quart or so is held in the gearbox. Loosen the gearbox to drain the old oil. Then tighten it back up and add a quart of fresh thru the plug at the top. Or operate the pulley for a few minutes after refilling the transmission - the gearbox will be splash filled from the main transmission.
