B414 leaking oil from left rear axle end.

I checked the tran level plug and oil immediately started coming out. Could the trans be too full causing pressure to cause the rear axle leak? The manual is not too clear on where the level plug is. I believe it is the plug on the driver right side level with the floor board and adjacent to the brake pedalsz/...right. Anyone think I should empty the level so that it stops at the bottonm of the plug as it should?

Thanks

Hi Ron, you have the correct level plug by the foot rest.
If the transmission oil has never been changed, I would let the tractor sit level for a day and slowly open the drain plug and see if it is oil or water that comes out. IIRC there was a drain plug under rear casting below PTO shaft and cannot remember if there was 2 or 3 drain plugs on bottom of transmission.

Hi Ron, I don't think to much oil would force it out the axle seal unless it was full up to the top of transmission. Filler plug is by gear shift lever.
Is it 80 or 90wt transmission grease?

I assume it is 80/90 gear oil. It is the colour of hot cocolate...which tells me no water is in it.I'm going to loosen the drain plugs and see if any water is present...I believe it is one common reservoir. Then, I am going to open the drain plug and let it emmpty till it finds the level of the hole. I'll see how much comes out. Make sense???
Thanks Ron
