49 C,grinds gears

So I start up my c and go to put it in R andit grinds like He!!,just started this.Seems like if I pump the pedel then go to forward first then it will go into R,what could it be?Stickin?

Hi, could be clutch plate sticking to flywheel or pressure plate or bronze pilot bushing is dry of grease. If the problem disappears after some use then the problem is probably sticking clutch plate and can be prevented by blocking clutch pedal down while not in use. If problem persists then most likely bronze pilot bushing is dry of lube and unfortunately there is no method to lube it without splitting the tractor. Maybe some inventive person in this forum has devised a method to lube the pilot bearing in a C or SC.
