Farmall M PTO assy

Hi Folks.

I have a a 1948 Farmall M and it does not have a PTO installed in it. If i remove the cover can i install a PTO assy into it, or is it major work to do it. I see a assy for sale on ebay Item #400057750069. Can it be slid in? or would i need other parts to complete the job. Thanks alot.
 
You have to look at the lower transmission shaft from the rear, if it has the splined end on shaft you can put a compatable pto right in. Being a 48 model it would use the extended housing type, not old original flush mounted one.
