Square headed bolts for wheels on Super A

The square headed bolts that fit into the wheel rims of the Super A have broken or are rusted very bad and need replacing. Can squared headed bolts be found anymore and if so where? Are they just a grade 5 bolt? What to use to replace them to bolt the rim to the wheel plate?

Square head bolts are available from fastner supply houses (Fastenal, etc.).

You may only find Grade 2 but Grade 2 should be suitable. I don't know if the head size will be right, but even if they are a little small it should be better than using hex head bolts.

I found Grade 5s and 8s at Earnest Machine Co. I've gotten the square-head rim bolts and the long carriage bolts for the wheel weights from them.

They don't list the shorter ones online right now, but I've had good luck calling them up and finding they have what I want. They're good to deal with and don't mind handling small orders, though freight (as always) on a small order can be bad, but that's not their doing. And it isn't any worse than what a Fastenal store will tag on if they have to order them for you.

McMaster-Carr's I know are all grade 2.

I purchased the square headed bolts at fastenal two years ago for my SA. They take two differant lengths due to the thinker cast iron on the right hand side. You also need to get heavy duty nuts to put on there and not use regular nuts. You cant get them at fastenal also.
