66 series TA

I have a 66 series and when driving it a noise makes like a noisy rearend but its not the rearend but coming from transmission.. it get louder when accererating and decelerating. also the clutch may be slipping or the torue perhaps.. The tractor sat idle for 20 years. I am thinking its the Ta.. when engaging it engages but it clunks as well? does anyone know what type of noise a bad ta makes.

Mine made no noise, just slipped on the low side.

The noises can be hard to describe. Everything from chattering, to vibration, to whining noise can be heard from a TA. What is the full model, and year. Though similar, there are differences that play an important role in describing issues. JimN

Yes its a 1468 international 1972. thats what i thought they just slip but some people say they can make grinding noises too or thumping noises.
