electrical problem

I have a 12 volt alternator purhased from NAPA and tried to retrofit it to my Farmall C. I wasn't able to complete the retrofit with the enclosed instructions. It is a Delco Remy with (3) wires coming out of it. The large wire is red and goes to the connector term. on the alternator, then onto the battery. There is a black wire in the middle and a brown wire. Can someone tell me how this is connected to the whatever? I did change the coil to a 12 volts coil. Any help in this matter much appreciated thank you.

The big terminal with 10gauge wire should go to the amp meter. It connects to the side not connected to the battery.
The # 2 terminal Connects to the big terminal with a spade connector, and a ring connector (very short wire)
The #1 terminal connects to one side (Terminal)of an idiot light It needs to be a parking light bulb, not LED. The other side of the (terminal) lamp goes to the ignition switch terminal that goes to the ignition resistor, or coil (which ever). No part of the lamp is grounded.
The light bulb can be replaced with a 3 amp 150piv diode from Radio Shack. The band (painted) end of the diode goes toward the alternator. Good luck, JimN
