F20 road gear box

Is there any way to tell what brand of road gear box( or overdrive ) I have on my F20 ?

take a picture and we'll tell you. some of them out there have no markings on them. Heislers had a small metal tag that woudl sometimes come off as well.

There are many guys on here that know more than I do about these tractors. My F-20 has a Heisler overdrive. It has a cast iron housing and is about 4" thick 8" wide and 6" tall. The overdrive box basically doubles the input shaft speed, giving you 8 forward speeds and 2 reverse. The Behlen road gear gives you one more gear, giving you a 5 forward speed transmission. I think it is an aluminum housing in which the shifter handle is on the right hand side. I have been told the handles like to break off so it may not there. There is another box out there but I know nothing about it. Like Old-F20 said, send a pic and he will tell you what you need to know.

Does it look like this one? This is a Behlen road gear. This one is on my F-20. I've been told it makes the tractor go around 12MPH. I think it goes pretty fast when I have the tractor engine speeded up.

It looks like a Behlen Road Gear but my tractor will easily bust 20 mph.Works slick.
