Farmall C block

I am restoring a farmall C and I pulled the motor and the mounting ears on the front of the block are cracked pretty good. I just thought I'd see if anyone has encountered this problem before and what the best way to fix it would be?

If they are just cracked I would vee them out and use a good nickel rod to weld them up. Try to reinforce if possible. Take it to a welding shop if you don't do much welding yourself. Or find another block. The choice is yours.

It is the place they break when the wheels fall in a chuck hole, or the tractor is used with a loader and overloaded. If it is not under a loader, it might be OK to have it welded (by a professional) if care is taken to not stress it in use. Welded casting tractors do not sell as well as it would with a clean block.
