Cub real axle

I am brand new to cub restoration. Last winter I replaced the oil seals in the right side rear axle and re inserted it into the rear hub. At this time each wheel turns independently and if I remember correctly before I took the housing off when I turn one rear wheel the other turned.

Did I do something wrong when I re inserted? Is there a certain procedure to do this?

Thank you.

If you have both rear tires off the ground - when you turn one rear wheel the other will also turn - usually backwards if the transmission is in gear.

You had the tractor in gear before. Now it is in neutral.

If you put it back in gear the wheels will behave as before. One wheel will turn forward while the other goes backward.

If it still doesn't, then you indeed did something wrong. What that is, I have absolutely no idea because there really isn't much that can go wrong. It's pretty idiot-proof in that respect.
