f-12 front end removal

I am trying to remove the front axle stand to replace it with one that has steel wheels on it ,I have all four bolts out but can't get the old one off. Does anyone have any suggestions.

thank you, Scott

I dont remember any dowels or anything when I changed my 14, but there could have been. Once I got my bolts out on mine, it did just dropped off.

The square plates that bolt together have a dowel and recess that fit together. The upper square plate has a dowel that is cast in it. The lower square has a recess for this dowel. What happens over time is water getting in between the square plates fills up the recess and the resulting rust "bonds" the dowel and recess together. What I've done is take an old stiff putty knife, screwdriver, whatever and with a hammer tried to drive them between the plates. There isn't much room to get these between the plates, but they will eventually go. Don't work or hammer in one spot only. Once they start to split apart, you can spray some WD 40, PB Blaster, in and let it soak awhile before continuing with the putty knife, screwdriver. Some of these things are really tight from the rust over the years. BTDT.
