I am trying to replace a starter/generator on a 1982 cub 154 lowboy. They have it for a different year and for the 184. Anyone know if it is the same inter-changeable part? I can't see why they would change from year or model.

The 154 was only built 1968-1974. The 184 uses an alternator. The starter/generator you need is #1101432. Often the description will state CW or CCW rotation. You need CW.

184 uses a starter that turns the flywheel like a convetional Cub or anything else for that matter, 154 usues a starter/generator that turns the front crank pulley. You can change it over, but you must change the flywheel, which requires alot of work, and cutting the frame. I just had mine rebuilt, and even that wasnt cheap. I heard of one gentleman who changed his out with a stater/genny from a golf cart.
