rice is overpriced, and Aldersons has a much better quality head gasket. Ive used both so i know.

The rod bearings are poured babbitt. To get new, you have to find someone that can pour new babbitt and then bore to the correct size. Unless the babbitt is totally worn out or chunks of it are missing (ran across that on a Case DC rod) you can just remove shims from under the rod cap until you get the correct oil clearance.

Thanks fellows, do they not make bearing liners for a f20, the caps look decent but do show a bit a wear but there is plenty of shims I could take out. Also what is the oil clearance for the shims.

The rod bearings are babbit, but they are not poured, they are inserts. if you have shims left you are probably OK. I think the clearance is .002-.003 but I do not remember for sure. I have just taken a good pair of inserts out of a dead 20 if one looks bad, just make sure the crank has not been ground, they will have the size on the back of the insert.
