Anyone ever use one of these?

I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of these to clean nudes and bolts? It seems like a good way to do it.

It'll work well on bolts and similar small metal parts. Only problem is it can't get into/clean threads

Never had an opportunity to try cleaning a NUDE in one however. (She probably wouldn't like it anyway...)

Yes, put your regular cleaning media in and add about a cup of coarse sand to it. It will clean up nuts and bolts pretty good. Brad

How big is that tub??? I never needed to clean anything that big. Did they need cleaning. JimN

I got one from harbor freight. I have tried different tumbling media and have come to the conclusion that it does a good job just sitting on the shelf. They are worthless in my opinion. I hope you didn't already buy one!

I'm like Barney. Got one from harbor freight. It's been sitting on my workbench unused for months. It does a fair job on small parts, but it takes a long time, expecially if there is heavy rust. Also, separating the small parts from the media is a problem. Doing it over again, I don't think I would buy it.

I use a bench grinder mounted on a post with two wire wheels on it. I use a 8" fine on one end and a 6" medium on the other. I find it works great for all kins of parts, including "Nudes" and bolts. Probably one of the most used tools in my shop. It is key however to get a grinder the is powerfull enough. (.5hp minimum) Also key to MAKE SURE the RPM of the grinder and the RPM rating on the wheels are ok. You don"t whant a wheel that spits wires at you. (WATCH THOSE EYES)
It is probably more work this way but I am funny about putting dirty parts back together.

It would seem that the cleaning qualities would be secondary to the vibrosoty characteristics of such a gizmo in a nude application.

My brother has one and it does a great job, his however did break from overloading.

Anyone ever use one of these?
