Cub Piston rings

Thanks for the info. I took the block in today. All the valve seats are badly rusted. New seats.
They're going to mic the cylinders. But, not sure what they should be. The IT manuel says 2 5/8 bore. Does that mean anything above that means it's been bored?
There's an auto parts store in front of the shop. Maybe they can make rings. Sounds like the easy solution.

2.625 will be the original bore. If even sizes bigger (.010", .020", ,030") measured where there is no wear (near bottom of bore, and above the ridge if any) it has been bored. New pistons will need to be fit to the bore as specified in the service manual (I do not know the #) Any new piston ring will have to be of the correct bore, and have the correct thickness, and end gap. If it needs to be bored oversize you will need to buy new oversize pistons & rings. Your machine shop can get the new piston set & rings. Have the crankshaft measured for wear too as it may need to be ground undersize. Your machine shop can furnish the correct undersize bearings. Hal
PS: If they dipped your block to clean it make sure all the plugs were installed before you start the rebuild. Ask your shop about this since this will affect your oil pressure.
