1066 slow hydralics

I have a 1066. I must rev the engine up on my remotes to just raise a 14 ft. disc, and the 3 point drifts down when the tractor is shut off. I have Hytran up to proper level and have changed the filter. Steering seems to be ok. Are there 2 filters and 2 hydralic pumps on the tractor? If a pump is bad, how hard is it to replace it? Thanks.

The pump for the remotes and the hitch is back down under the left brake and it uses the same filter as the front pump.

You can change that pump in 5 minutes, however the hard part is draining all that derned oil out of the rearend. Have 4 5-gallon open buckets at the ready. :>)

Pull the outer row of bolts to remove pump/plate assembly, Check the o-ring. If it is good, replace the pump.

Allan, an easy way to get most of the oil out is plug a hose in one of the outlets and put the other end in a barrel. Start the tractor and pull back the lever. It will pump all but a few gallons out. Then just stick a barrel pump in the barrel and pump the oil back in. BTW to prevent tweaking that drive in seal in the filter frame you almost have to pull the filter cover and push the tube in from that way.

Under your seat there is a relief valve for the remotes. it might have went bad. Got weak. My 806 did the same thing till I changed the relief valve.

better put suction tube in from filter side after installing pump to avoid damaging seal. Most likely you need to put in a new seal anyway as they get hard and are a source of sucking in air.
